The past few years at the kick-off of 2004 up to the present has been a time for wide range of music scenarios. Philippines has always been a fan of soft, senti music we all fondly call as acoustic. So there goes MYMP, Nina, Nyoy Volante and the like. I have always been a fan of acoustic fendors and I go for the wider range. That is, to include my all-time favorite Japanese acoustic singer, YUI. She kinda' reminds me of the PDA Grand Winner, Yeng Constantino. At a young age of 20, yeah...we're of the same age...she has already been acclaimed as one of Japan's biggest paid talents. Her exceptional skills in writing songs and putting it into music is amazing! She also has this pretty and simple aura in her that makes people more drawn to her. One of my favorite songs of Yui is Feel My Soul. It is so wondefully made that it charted to the top of the music billboard in Sony Music Japan. The first time she went to Tokyo as a singer, she composed and sang Feel My Soul for her town where she grew up and learned how to be a real musician, Fukouka. The first time she auditioned, record companies were all in a scramble to let her sign in for a recording contract and she sang her original composition on the audition too which is "It's Happy Line", which is later included in her album. Yui has the spirit to keep acoustic fendors alive and she has the soul to touch lives with her music. Yui-chan...gambatte!! ^_^
